I've only tried submitting to a paying Medium pub once (not one of the ones you mentioned.) After about a month I received the nicest rejection letter I've ever had. But still, a rejection. I published it in the Ascent and though it had thousands of views and still gets views, they were all external and I only made $1.08. I guess the original pub was right that it wouldn't do well on Medium. If only we were paid for external views :)
