Maybe I'm wrong but it gives off the feeling of multilevel marketing. Anyone have a friend selling LipSense? They make most of their money from getting people below them to sign up. Not from selling the lipstick. Does this mean most of the money to be made on Medium is going to be from people selling subscriptions, leaving less for the writers?

As Medium was never a big source of income to me, and I barely have been writing here anyway lately, it won't affect me much. But I wonder if very active writers will see their income drop? I hope not.
